How do you comply with Nigerian import regulations for structural steel?
We are fully experienced with Nigeria's Standard Organisation of Nigeria Conformity Assessment Programme (SONCAP). We provide the necessary Product Certificate (PC) and Certificate of Conformity (CoC) to facilitate smooth customs clearance, Form M processing, and terminal handling at Apapa, Lekki, or Port Harcourt ports.
Why is Q355B steel preferred over ordinary Q235 steel for Nigerian commercial infrastructure?
While Q235 is excellent for light structural applications and standard framing (yielding minimum 235 MPa), Q355B structural steel has a higher yield strength (minimum 355 MPa). It is preferred for heavy industrial structures, multi-tier platforms, and large warehouses, providing higher structural margins against deformation under dynamic wind loads.
What surface treatments are recommended for steel structures located near coastal Lagos?
For high-salinity marine environments like Victoria Island, Lekki, and Apapa, we strongly recommend Hot-Dip Galvanization (HDG) with a minimum coating thickness of 60–85 microns (conforming to EN ISO 1461), or high-performance epoxy marine paints to prevent chloride-induced rust.
